Movie encoded with AAC-LC dropping audio after 15 minutes

Hi, strange problem.  Movie (media-info below) plays fine for 15 minutes and then audio drops out.

I’m playing back via USB 2TB HDD.   The box is set to output stereo via HDMI, so the multi-channel AAC audio should be automatically down-mixed (or so I believe).

After the drop out, if I try to playback any other file, I get an unsupported file type error until I power down the box.

This is the second time i’ve had an issue with a movie that is encoded with AAC-LC.  Any ideas for a solution/workaround?  Also why would it play OK for 15 minutes?  Dodgy encoding maybe?

If I get no joy, is it possible to re-encode the audio stream only within the MKV container to say MP3?

Cheers

Dave

Well, the WD TV should play this movie without any issue, as you stated, it might be a bad codification. You can try to re-code the movie, even change the audio track.

And yes, you can change the audio code, without changing the container .MKV
