Move from RAID1 to JBOD Mode

I’m running out of space and no wish to start buying 8Gb replacement HDDs. My 4Gb drives are configured in RAID1 (mirroring) and I want to convert to JBOD so I get 2 x 4Gb. I have the new OS5 installed. What is the best approach without losing any data?
