Motheboard combatibility question-WD Black M.2 512GB SSD

I am highly considering pre-ordering and purchasing the new WD Black M.2 drive for my new build. However, I have checked the motherboard compatibility list and did not see my planned motherboard listed. I am planning on buying the mini-ATX ASUS Z710i pro gaming motherboard. The Asus specifications page states the board has the following: 1 x M.2 Socket 3, with M key, type 2242/2260/2280 storage devices support (both SATA & PCIE mode). Since the WD black M.2 is an M.2 2280 form factor I believe it will be supported, but since it is not specifically listed on the compatibility summary here: https://www.wdc.com/content/dam/wdc/website/downloadable_assets/eng/flyers/2178-800181.pdf I am not 100% sure. The regular full size Z710 pro gaming model is listed as compatible, but the Z710i mini-ATX model is not listed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -Thank you

Hi,

Looks like you have a typing error with the motherboard model, there’s no ASUS Z710i listed on the ASUS website. Now, the ASUS Z170i is listed and is on the supported list.

Please check the information.

I am planning to buy a PCIe SSD, i want to try this “WD Black PCIe SSD” but the problem my motherboard which is “H170 PRO Gaming” is not on the supported list… there is a “ASUS H170M-PLUS/CSM” that included in the supported list… is H170 PRO and H170M-PLUS different ? they are both using “Intel® H170 Chipset”

Intel® H170 chipset :
