Modifying the MyBookStudio2

Here an idea to modify the MyBookStudio2! Suppose i would get a diskless MyBookStudio2, provided they sell them without disks (do they?) can i install on the MBStudio2 disks of my selection? For example, to install 2 drives (one 4 and the other 2TB) 4-8TB and work with them using the JBOD function!

Is this possible?

Hi genik, there is no diskless version of the My Book Studio Edition II and this model only support RAID 0 and 1.

well i was thinking maybe there was a way to hack it, make it work as JOBD and place WDred drives of ones liking! The way its built is great, the passive cooling is a real break through!

Hi again, these type of modifications are not supported, but maybe some of the other community users can share some advice.
