Model Number Interpretation

I was using LSHW on my Xubuntu PC and I noticed that it doesn’t list the speed of the drive. Now, I can’t expect there to be a database for LSHW that lists the specs of every drive, but if the maintainer of LSHW could add a way of determining the speed (and maybe other info) from the model number, that would be nice. I found a PDF with this infomation from 2009, but it’s pretty outdated.
