My Media player dont play MKV265
And NEVER will.
H.265 requires at least a Quad Core Processor @ 1 GHz and higher (for decoding / playback)
WD TV’s are Single Core Processor running at a feeble 700 MHz
You will have to buy a New Media Player for H.265 Playback
eg. my Android Box (Amlogic S905X Quad Core 2 Ghz CPU, Penta Core GPU 750 MHz) can playback perfectly H.265 (HEVC) at 4K Resolution (3840x2160) at 10 Bit and 60 fps.
$50 AUD
you can also convert them to h264 google h265 convert to h264. I doubt there be any on the fly trancoder for h265 it just be too much cpu power.
sure, that’s an option i suppose (a time consuming and loss of quality one)
but, also is kinda the opposite of the point of encoding to H.265 in the 1st Place … Small File Size and High Quality.
Converting H.265 to H.264 will bloat the filesize by gigs … and there will actually be Video Quality Loss. There always is when converting video.
