MKV with h264 1080p stops playing alwys on same scenes

Hi,

i have problems with several 1080 p MKV Files playing on my WD Elemts Play (latest firmware). After a while on certain scenes the video stops. It happens always on the same scenes. On other players it works without any problems.  Any hints ?

If it’s the exact same spot every time, it’s either simply a bad encode, or it’s the fact that you’ve used too many reference frames when encoding.

Try re-encoding the file from your original source, using fewer reference frames, and see if that plays through the “bad” sections.
