.mkv problems with WDH2NC40000 DLNA server

ushare is not compatible with MAC os,  should I use another one for this testing purposes?

Since ushare was not compatible with Mac, I tried another 2 for performing a test:

  eyeconnect

  iSedora

None of them were able to stream the mkv movies as TVMOBiLi does. The error that appear on the TV is that the format is not supported.

  Any ideas?

Regards

GIlson

ok. i will have to test something when i get home tonight. i wouldnt worry about testing other dlna clients and your question to WD probably wont get an answer we’re looking for.

update: Ushare doesnt stream mkv to samsung tv. this nas may not be what your looking for and i hope you havent put all your files on it already. i just use this nas to keep images of my pcs so its ok for that.

Fortunately my Samsung TVs are flexible enough and I was able to map the samba shares on the TV and play the movies, so the NAS is not totally useless.

The bad thing is that I was forced to turnaround the issue using the TV features in order to have something that was supposed to work out of the box on the NAS. That is a really bad negative point for Western Digital in my opinion

I emailed the TVMOBilI support team and they are looking to see if it is possible to install it on the MBWE II.

I will post here any updated I get.

Thank you!

WD support just does not answer my question neither provide an estimative on when the problem should be fixed. I got in touch with the TVMOBiLi support and got it running flawless on my NAS. They will make public a walk-thru (it may be avaialble this week) on how to install in on WD NAS so you get rid of the useless Twonky that comes with the box (at least until the WD support comes up with a final solution).

cool. care to let us know how to do it now?

For sure I am gonna share this as soon as I get the “green light” from the TVMOBiLi ppl. I had to install it manually they guys from there kinda of used me as a guinea pig  and are finalizing a automatic build that should be easy to anyone to install.

I will let you know as soon as I get their reply!

Here it goes guys. Below you will find an opkg, an ipkg and a manual install:
