When will they finally release the fix for the lack of ability to play newly encoded MKV files?! It’s ridiculous this problem of having either no audio or no audio and no picture.

This really needs to be rectified I realise that there is a fix but it just hasn’t been released in a firmware yet, that’s even more maddening.

For users of the PLUS, this is fixed in the Beta release today.

(Yes, I know I’m crossposting to a bunch of threads; some people may have subscribed to one thread or the other and will benefit from getting the e-mail alert.)

Interesting, I’m still having the exact problem.  No audio for mkv files.  I have even run a couple through mkvmerge as some have suggested and still nothing.  These same files play fine through a wdtvlive.  I’m going to actually change swap the boxes just to make sure it’s nothing external causing the issue like the TV, HDMI, etc.

Did these files play correctly on your Plus prior to upgrading the firmware?
