Missing firmware update for My Passport Ultra 3 TB drives

Hi,

The KB14223 on the WD support website speaks about a firmware update for My Passport Ultra 3 TB USB 3.0 external hard drives to improve compatibility with Surface Book tablets.

On the download page, the WD Universal Firmware Updater is marked as released on 7/15/2016 but in fact the ZIP file is dated from 2014 and doesn’t offer the update. Also, PDF release notes have not been updated since 2014.

Do you know how to update a My Passport Ultra 3 TB with this new firmware ?

Can you please check on the drive what firmware is running?

The latest one should be Version: 3.2.5.1

Hi,

3.2.5.1 is the version of the update utility (dated 2014).

My Passport firmware is 1.025.

The 3.2.5.1 utility doesn’t offer the july 2016 update.
