i have a 500gb hard drive that was almost full, i removed it from a computer i was no longer using and into one that i had just installed windows xp to. the hard drive now shows up as being 80gb which is rougly how much space i had left on it and there is no way to access any of the previous files as it just simply does not show up. any ideas on how to fix this??

Sometimes a drive will report a lower capacity if it has been truncated with a HPA, in which case you could use HDAT2 or HDD Capacity Restore Tool to restore the drive’s full native capacity.

If the above doesn’t solve your problem, then the fault will most likely be inside the HDA. :frowning:
