Missing 22GB of space

Hi guys,

I’m pretty new to all this stuff so please forgive me if I’m missing something obvious here.

I bought this drive because my PC is on its way out and I can’t afford to lose all my data and family pictures.

I plugged it in, and within “my computer” I looked at its properties. It “should” be a 320GB drive, but it is only showing 298GB total. This is before I’ve even put data on there.

Any ideas what could be wrong and whether I should take it back to the store?

WE ARE NOT MISSING 22 GB…IT IS DUE TO DECIMAL TO BINARY NO. SYSTEM  CHANGE…

ANY DRIVE WITH 320 GB WILL ONLY SHOW UP AS 298 GB IN COMPUTER SINCE COMPUTER CAN ONLY READ BINARY NO. SYSTEM .

Another words, it is normal.  All disk drive does this not just WD.
