Mini to mini component cable?

my wd tv live has a mini component output and my panasonic p50gt30 tv has a mini component input.

anybody know where i can find a cable that has mini component (i think thats 3.5mm 4 pole) on each side? without having to go through a three ended rca cable in the middle?

thanks in advance.

While possible, it’s doubtful the Panasonic has the same pinout on the cable…

ah yes… well, i’ve connected the cable that comes with the tv to the cable that comes with the hd live unit and then using a voltmeter tested to see if the pins are wired the same.

they’re not. there is no standard for this. :frowning:

they’re not.

In that case, your only option, beyond using 3 RCA-RCA adaptors to join the 2 provided cables, would be to buy 2 mini jacks (4-pole, not 3-pole) and some shielded 3-wire cable and make your own custom cable, using the existing pinouts as a guide.

I know tons of 3-pole cables exist for joining stereo signals, but I’ve never personally seen a 4-pole one for a 3-signal cable, and even if you did find one, as you found out, it wouldn’t work since the lines need to be crossed over according to your voltmeter experiments.

The FAQ sticky for the Live / Live+ lists the pinout for the WD cable.
