Hi,
I have a pre-sales question but I can’t seem to find the way to engage with WD to ask this without already have the product serial… If there is a contact process I should be following let me know please.

I am purchasing a WD My Cloud Ex2 Ultra, and I see that WD is offering free licenses for Milestone Arcus Surveillance, until the 31st December. I would like to know if I purchase the MyCloud before 31stDecember but only register to Milestone adter the new year, I can still leverage from the free licenses… This because, I am getting this as a christmas gift, but I am afraid i might only arrive near to new year.

thank you for the recommendation… since last night that I am trying to clarify this promotion which is not clear on the first place and it has been a nightmare!
Contacted WD which stated they do not know anything about it. They can see it on the website (https://www.milestonesys.com/our-products/milestone-arcus/) but because this is not on WD website than they can not help. They also mentioned they dont know if this app WD!?!. I was trying to explain this is a software provider of an app that is part of MY Cloud OS which in turn is WD… But no… they asked to contact milestone.
Milestone said thie is WD offering the licenses as part of their sales strategy and need to talk to them… But they also provided me the contact details for US milestone arcus sales team which is the one specialised on this product…

So I am back to square one. Need to wait for US opening time and see what they say…

The purchase and registration of My Cloud EX2 Ultra is not related to the Free Milestone Arcus licenses.
When Milestone Arcus is installed, the Free Camera licenses will be provided to the camera’s already connected to the unit. If you add 10 more camera’s two days later, then 10 free licenses will be triggered.

It is not possible to reserve free licenses for future camera purchases / additions.

Im trying to install 3 camaras and dont let me install any of those. The Arcus recognize the camara but is asking “If you have exceeded your available camera licenses, you can purchase more.
Please click here: Western Digital Online Store”. Then It said something about upgrade software but Im in the latest software. What could I do?

same problem here with only 2 cams, did you ever got this resolved ?

I did not resolve this issue yet. I call WD customer service and they dont have an idea how to resolve the problem with Milestone Arcus. They should be ashame for sell their NAS products under false description of the product. Using Arcus was for the only thing I need my NAS.

WD verry frustrating

Ok i got rid of this piece off … i was lucky to get a full refund after 3 months and i now bought the synology ds216play. hope this is a better solution for me !!
