Migrate C: (internal failing) To G: (Ext G-Tech) & boot from G:

Hi. My Internal HD C:is failing.
I want to back it up to new G-Technology external drive.
Would also like to be able to boot from G; (pending replacement PC or MAC in near future. Christmas coming)
Are instructions available someplace for Windows 10?
