Message Hard disk need to be formatted

Dear all,

My BOOK essential hard disk since this morning give me a message that it needs to be formatted for being used.

I have a lot of datas in it. Please someone could help me on how to preoceed?

Hello Mate,

I’ll recommend you to use Recuva or Photorec, those are free data recovery software. Otherwise you will need professional data recovery to retrieve your data.

After you complete that process you will need to format your drive in order to make the unit fully operational again, you are dealing with a corrupted file system.
