Memory Corruption Detected on EX4

I have an IDS on my network which scanned my EX4 for vulnerabilities.

One of them said:

Memory corruption detected on Western Digital MyCloud NAS.

I am running firmware v.2.11.178

I called support and they said the latest firmware has issues, but is there a newer version that will help with this issue and sending unencrypted passwords?

Now, I cannot even get these error messages, attempting to log in.

MyCloud will not discover the device.

Any ideas?

Also, I will look for downloads for hardware diagnostic tools to see if there are utilities to use…


I saw some articles about it, but they all assume I can log into My Cloud, and I cannot, it seems.

On the outside of the device, the display does indicate “Healthy.”
