MCM dashboard login screen no response with correct password?

For a few weeks, I’ve not been able to progress past the Dashboard login page. I’ve previously not had any issues.

  • using a browser (Windows or IOS Safari that both previously worked) and connecting using either the IP address or in windows http://wdmycloud/ or IOS with http://wdmycloud.local/ brings up the MyCloud Dashboard login screen OK.
  • If I enter my correct username and password, clicking the login button, nothing happens
  • If I delibrately enter an incorrect username or password, an error message is returned stating that correct username or password has been used indicating that the MCM does recognise the correct password
  • There is no issue using the IOS mycloud app nor windows networking to read/write the MCM
  • I believe the MCM has the latest firmware, however, unable to verify due to inability to progress pass the Dashboard login screen
    Any assistance would be appreciated

This may sound weird, but give it a try if you haven’t already.

After entering your credentials, tap or click the Logon (or whatever it’s labeled) button two times. I’ve seen numerous instances where the first click seems to be ignored.

Hi, I’ve just tried your suggestion but unfortunately still stays on the login screen. Thanks anyhow.

I don’t want to reset the MCM yet as I’ve an unlocked encrypted USB drive also attached to the MCM. As I can still read/write to this USB drive, I have the big concern if a reset doesn’t work, I’ll no longer have access to the USB drive via the MCM just as the case if the MCM was powered off.
