MBL V Linksys Velop

Hi There
Just installed a 3 Node Linksys Velop Wifi Mesh system.
All my toys are back on line… except for my MBL!

Modem (Virgin Media in bridge mode), Main Velop (taking care of DHCP), Netgear 8 port unmanaged switch ( need this to distribute other bits of string because the Velop only has 2 ethernets… and one of those is taken up with connection to the modem) & MBL all next to each other.

MBL led flashing yellow, none of the ethernet comms lights flashing

Here is what Ive tried…
Reserved the MBL static IP address in the Velop settings
4 second MBL reset
Swapped cables around between Velop & Switch
Swapped cables between switch & MBL
Tried all the ports on the switchbin the process.

Still no connection.

As a last resort, I took the switch out of the picture and plugged MBL straight into the spare port on the Velop.

It took a few minutes to carch up, but it worked and all lights flash as they should.
While I was there, tried multiple cables to make sure they all worked.

However, put the switch back in line & it dropped out again.

As the Velop only has 2 ethernet ports, I need a switch to hook up the TV/Blueray/Tivo/smart lights, otherwise I would have left it plugged direct.

Unfortunately, the other Velops are using both ethernets too, so a switch anywherw could cause a problem.

I can do some swapping out of switches to eliminate faults there too, butvwas wondering if anyone else had had tjis issue and could offer a fix.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers

It seems that the MBL needs to be plugged directly into one of the Velop
nodes in order to work.

If I plug it via a switch (I have both managed and unmanaged switches) it
doesnt work.

The only dwn side is that now the MBL is on show, rather than locked away
with the rest of my kit.
