Making Playlists

I used playlist creator 3.6.2 to make a playlist and it worked fine running on vlc on my computer. Although when I tried putting it into the Hub (which is meant to support it) it didn’t work I tried using pls. and m3u both said there was no media available. I also filtered by playlist and that didn’t help!!

Playlists must be RELATIVE paths, not absolute.

Sorry what does that mean?

How do I do what is on this thread, its a little complicated and I dont fully understand. Thanks

Open Playlist Creator, then click on “Settings”.  A new window will popup, on the left side click on “Playlist Details”, then were it says:

Do you want to save the playlist entries absolute or relative?

Click on the dropdown box and select:

Relative (e.g. “…\MyMusic\MySong.mp3”)

Click “Apply” then “OK”, then create your playlist.

Its already set like that still not working

Post the contents of one of your playlists.

They are all my tv shows in one playlists, all from the same F drive but in different folders

eg. Heroes/season 1/episode 1

Charmed/season 3/episode 12

and so on.

Post the actual playlist. I would assume that it does not have / in them. It should be \

How do I get the information code stuff from my playlist?? When I generate it, it comes up as one file?

You just open the playlist with notepad, then copy the information and paste it here.

… and what is the full path to the playlist file itself?

Its just in the top level of my portable harddrive

Folder Path F:/

well, then your playlist is wrong.

Every line begins with …(something)

which means, go one level HIGHER than the playlist file, then descend into folder (something).

So if it’s at the top level, there’s no level higher.

Sorry I made a mistake it is \

The playlist is in the top top level as soon as I open the harddrive its on that level

You didn’t read what I said.

They all begin with "…"  … two dots.

That two dots tells the WD to try to back up ONE LEVEL of folders, but since your playlist is already at the top, it can’t, so it’s wrong.

Ok, So how do I fix this??

Probably by taking that "…" out.
