Making my own dvr expander for cisco chs 435

Hi i have been thinking about making my own dvr expander because the retail model is only one terabite after doing some research i found a WD Purple WD20PURX 2TB SATA used for securty video the requerments from verizon is that the drive uses a esata cable and not usb i just wanted to know if this drive would be compatable to the one used in the WD My Book DVR Expander thanks Tim

The WD My Book AV DVR Expander has been designed and tested to be used with a wide array of specific devices listed the following link:

Nonetheless, it may also work with additional devices not listed. Western Digital recommends contacting your cable provider for a full list of compatible options.
