Macbook won't recognize wd my passport hardrive

I have only had this hard drive three months model:WDBBEP0010BBK-01 and its about half full 1TB size.

Has worked fine until now when i plug it in it can not be seen at all by my macbook.  I have tried disk utility and it does not see it either.  I have used a different cable on hard drive with no luck.  The driver light is blinking like it is trying to be read but computer still cant see it.  I have tried this hard drive on three different macbooks and 2 windows pc’s(formatted for both) and none of the computers can see the hard drive.  Thanks for any ideas.

I’m having a similar problem with “My Book” Essential. However; if I unplug and plug the drive back in my MAC PC will recognize it for a short time and even begin a back-up process. But after a short time I receive a message saying it was disconnected incorrectly and the connection is lost. Any help would be appreciated.
