Mac Time Machine must create a new backup

I just purchased this, for Time Machine. It is not working:

I am running Mac Catalina, using Xfinity XB7-T Modem/Router combo.

I used to get this on the old “My Cloud”. Extremely annoying.

I have the same problem. I have returned the disk as I thought it was faulty and they sent me a new one. Now Time Machine is unable to see the disk. I have performed all the steps suggested in this thread My Cloud Home: Not Seen by Time Machine on macOS Computer but no luck. This started since the recent upgrade to Catalina. I think they should fix this as that was the reason why I purchased this product.
