Mac OSX - WD My Cloud.app can not see connected WD My Passport Wireless Pro

"My Cloud .app" on iPad Pro works and can access files on the Macbook Pro, the wifi works correctly, “WD My Passport Wireless Pro” is registered, the Mac can see “MyPassport” in “Finder” and can log in as “Guest” but can’t log in as a registered user. No password is recognised.

The “WD My Cloud.app” loaded on the Mac says that there is no WD device found on the network and requires that I sign in with my WDMyCloud.com login which I can not find a way to create such a login. Consequently the app does not do anything.

Request to WD help has not eventuated even though a case number was generated.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Peter.g

Thanks for the reply. The device is already correctly set up. The drive can be seen in “Finder”; the drive can be launched via the .url on the desktop, 2 iPads and iPhone and the mac can utilise the drive; Plex works as expected.

The problem, if it is a problem, is that the app alias on the desktop says there is no WD drive connected, it does not accept our email or password (I can’t find a way to create a login and I’m not sure we were ever logged in); the WD Discovery app also says there is no WD drive. Do these apps do anything?

I did a system reset a while ago to see if that resolved the situation but there was no change to the scenario.

See attached screenshot at the end of this chain for the current situation.

Regards and thanks
Mike

Hi Yachtiemike ,

Well, in this case we have delete the account from the users in My Cloud Dashboard. However, we would recommend you to contact Western Digital Technical Support.
