This is the error I receive when I try to copy a file from my imac to the NAS The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “Beauty and the Beast.avi” can’t be read or written.
(Error code -36)
I did not have any problems until Mac OS upgrade to 10.11.1

Have you tried restarting the unit to see if this helps? you can also reset the unit with a paperclip or a pin by pressing the reset button on the back for 3 to 5 seconds the button is located on top of the Ethernet port. Hope this helps.
Do you think its the NAS and not the change in the Mac OS

Its always good to check everything to narrow down the cause of this.
Did you ever resolve this issue? From what I can tell, WD NAS drives are not compatible with Mac OS. Paper weight?
