Lost Storage Capacity

I tried switching to a new Dell with Win 10 and made a disc image using my 1T WD MyBook. I switched back to my old Dell, with Win 7, and deleted the files I made for the Win 10 computer. Now I only have 31.9G on my WD Drive - what happened to the rest of the storage? And is there any way I can get it back? I tried reformatting, but it kept it at 31.9

thanks

Hi there, if you don’t care about the information on the drive you might want to write zeroes to the drive, you can use Western Digital Data Life Guard Tool. If that doesn’t work, I would recommend you to contact support as most likely you’ll need to RMA the drive.

Thanks. I’ll give that a try. Will I be able to reformat the drive after using the Data Life Guard Tool?

Hi, the data life guard tools will write zeroes to the drive which once you are done, will need to format it using disk management.

Thanks, again. I got it straightened out!
