I have a WD Book Essentials that I purchased last year. My computer recently crashed and they were not able to recover the main hard drive. I had a backup copy of all my information on the WD Book, which is great. I have recently purchased a new PC now, but I cannot find the disk that came with my external drive to install the software on the new computer. So, my backups are not working now. Is there any way that I can get a copy of the software?

Where is the model number located? it is a My Book Essentials WD
We need the model number there was no disk. Go to WD home and look in support legacy products. The number should be on the back.
