Lost data from MyBook Live during firmware update

I have a 2 TB My Book Live. I was updating the software via the MyBook Live setup (for mac) and as part of the setup, it took ages during the ‘checking your device’ section.

Then, when it finished, it has wiped most of the data from my device! Weirdly, there is still some data left. There doesn’t seem to be much rhyme or reason behind which files survived, they are from different dates etc.

This is very strange and very annoying, has anyone seen something similar?

Well, the issue that you are facing is not a known issue, I would request you to try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this so that one of our representative can take over the case and work on it.
