Lost connection for MyBook AV

I have had an external MyBook AV attached to a Verizon (now Frontier) DVR for the last few years. Last night, while installing a new TV, the MyBook AV SATA cable was accidentally unplugged. After plugging it back in, the DVR no longer recognizes the drive, and every attempt to re-attach the drive to the DVR is failing. Any suggestions on how I can get that connection re-established?

It is possible the partition is corrupted because it was unplugged without ejecting it safely.

I recommend you plug the drive into a computer and format it, then try in on the DVR.

You may also verify if the DVR has an option to repair drive or format the drive.

Note that formatting the drive will delete all data stored in it.
