Not sure who to address on this. Started last week. Open bookmark and got the attached dialog about an update in progress. OK, wait a few days. Open bookmark, get Community page (see other attached image). Login and get the “update in Progress” dialog. Wait over the weekend. Same issue. Can see the Community, browse through categories, and even see threads as long as I am not logged in. Once I login I get the “update in progress”. Tried other browsers (Edge, FireFox. Opera) with same results. Created new account with different email and successfully logged in. Appears issue is with my account. I have reset the password and still no luck. In the wdcomm.jpg, you can see my avatar in the corner showing I was able to log in but can’t get past this dialog.
Can you please forward this to the webmaster or whoever manages the community site? I did not find a specific link so I sent this request through this channel.
I did open a formal support request. I received an email reply stating this would get forwarded to the group that manages the community. Hopefully, this gets resolved soon.
Issue fixed.. If anyone else encounters this issue, here’s the solution (at least, it worked for me).
Log in to the Community site as usual.
Click Account, then the Profile icon at the bottom of the right side of the drop-down menu, then > Preferences .
In the Preferences menu, you will see the option to change your theme. There should be two options, Air Theme and Western Digital. Select the theme that is not currently chosen (the currently selected theme might be Western Digital, so please select Air Theme) and click ‘Save Changes’ at the bottom of the page.
Thanks. That’s the URL I always used. The banner was due to the theme I was using. Didn’t know the site had themes. I assume it was the result of the last upgrade and I got trapped in the wrong theme. The switch fixed it. Funny thing, if I go to Preferences now, the option to change themes is gone.
Anyway, it’s all good now and I’m back to my original account. I replied using this new one to maintain continuity of the thread.
