Logic Card (PCB Board)

#1

Hi Guys,

I have a 80GB WD internal HDD (WD800BB-22JHCO), DCM - DSCANTJAA, SN - WMAM9D399732) which got it’s card burnt.

Can I one of you get me a spare for it?

Thanks in advance.

Can you upload a detailed photo of the component side of the board to a file sharing service? Sometimes there is an easy DIY fix.

BTW, did you overvolt the drive?

Nope… It heard a sput and I switched off the cpu. It had a burning smell when I took out the HDD. Thereafter when I tried to put onto a different cpu it did not detect my HDD.

I tried replacing it with a 40 GB HDD logicard of WD and it detected my HDD as 40GB rather than 80GB but asked me to format which I don’t want to do.

If you connect the 40GB PCB on its own, without the drive attached, does BIOS still detect it?

It could be that the only difference between the two boards is an EEPROM chip, in which case you could transfer this chip from patient to donor.

Can we see a photo of both boards?
