I have 2 1tb Mybooks, one in which the encasing broke. So i swithced the cases and plugged it up via usb, but the manager says the drive is locked. I dont remember the password on that one and have no clue if i even locked it or not. I am trying to use the 1tb Western drigital drive as an actual hard drive for my computer, but when i plug the drive up via sata, my windows 7 wont recognize the hard drive to install the OS on. I tried linux (ubuntu) and it recognizes that its a 1tb western digital but "cant read/write due to i/o error. "
So confused at this point. Trying anything in my last efforts before declaring the HD damaged.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
