So my device is locked, even though I never set up a password to protect it. I hadn’t gotten that far yet… I just wanted to put some pictures on the ex.hard drive but I didn’t get that far yet and now I can’t do anything. Where do I go from here?!
Ufff that’s bad. Unfortunately, you only got two choices here. You can try entering the password wrong five times in a row the drive will ask you if you want to erase all the content, you will have to select yes. It will loose all the info but the drive will be operative again.
Otherwise you will need to contact WD if your drive is under warranty and request a replacement.
