I set up my WD Easystore with the time machine on my new iMac. When I go onto my hard drive it shows 20+ backup folders and I can’t find all my original files that I backed up. Why doesn’t it consolidate all backups into one folder instead of daily or multiple daily folders. This is frustrating since I can’t find what I’m looking for.

That is the way Timemachine software makes a backup on any external drive. Try contacting apple for more information regarding their software and how it functions.
