Google says I should try to use wdidle on it to change the 8? second idle parking time, but that util is not working. Also tried the idle3ctl program (the linux equivalent) and its giving me a
HDIO_DRIVE_CMD(identify) failed: Invalid argument
Can you seriously not change the 8 second parking time on this external drive? I use it on my linux desktop, and its cycle count is increasingly way too fast, and no doubt is putting a stress on the drive that shouldnt be there.
If it cant be changed, then back to the store it will go.
