Just got a G-Drive Mobile 1TB for use with my MacBook Pro. I leave the laptop on for weeks at a shot, is it ok to leave my drive plugged in for that long?
If the drive is mounted on the Desktop, I don’t believe keeping the drive plugged into the MBP, will hurt the G-Drive. I’ll be curious to see if others think differently. (Additionally, even if you allow the MBP to Sleep, a mounted external drive will be fine.)
When you select the G-Drive to dismount it, dismount by using keystroke (Cmd+E) or selecting “Eject” from the Finder’s File menu, and then remount the G-Drive using Disk Utility.
