Latest Firmware update slowed file access way down

I just updated the firmware on my 3TB MyCloud to v04.04.01-112 and now file access through local TCP and FTP is woefully slower it took 5 minuets before the files showed up in the finder window using MacBook Pro El Capitan and connecting to the server. This all worked great prior to the firmware update and now it does not how do I revert to the old firmware?
Heck it even takes longer for the MyCloud when I log into it and the MyCloud.com same thing takes forever for the files to refresh and become visible.

depending on number and types of files it can take a few days to settle down, be patient for now. I have not bench marked the new firmware performance bot have not noticed any real difference

Thanks is this akin to the drive indexing it’s contents?
