I don’t think WD consider the internet to be ‘public disclosure’. Provided their poor, vulnerable customers don’t get to hear about it, they don’t care.
La la, fingers in ears, I’m not listening.
And no, WD do not seem to acknowledge security issues, or give users any warning of security vulnerabilities, or temporary protective measures to counter vulnerabilities, or timescales for fixes. Or announcements that vulnerabilities have been fixed. And they’re not great at fixing vulnerabilities in a timely manner. Or possibly at all.
