Latest firmware kills Dlink DNS-323 NAS samba connection

Hi Tony;

I am using the same server for the WDTVLive as I am for the Popcorn Hour. It is a Dlink DNS-323 NAS with a uPnP server. Now the Popcarn Hour can play isoes off of the uPnP server and the WDTVLive FW v1.02.21, v1.03.49 or 1.04.10 can not.

From what I have been told on a uPnP server forum(mediatomb), DLNA is another protocol entirely and is not used  or supported by the uPnP standard. Am I wrong about this?

My understanding is that DLNA makes use of the UPnP framework.    It’s a superset of the protocol and standard.

uPNP and DLNA are complementary, but unrelated standards.  In game console terms uPNP is used by Microsoft XBox360 and DLNA is used by Sony Playstation 3.  They’re supposed to function in a similar fashion, but without doing some reading I don’t know exactly what the difference is.  They are usually both supported by the same softwares.
