Laptop drives WITHOUT Advanced Format?

I want to replace the 320GB drive in my Toshiba laptop running XP with a larger one, but w/o the hassle of Advanced Format workarounds.

  1. Is the WD640BEVT “standard” format (NOT Advanced Format)?

  2. If so, does that mean any WD  laptop drive that ends in EVT is  “standard” format?

Thanks,

Ralph

the drive is not AF

Thanks for the info!

the ones with the x’s have advanced format?

Yes.  The column header info doesn’t line up with the data.  Note also that the Advanced Format model numbers all end in “PVT”.

does WD10TEVT exist?

Huh?   Are you asking if the WD10TEVT is AF?  Then, No.
