Dear all,
My external harddrive shows up in mycomputer as local drive F but right click on this drive makes my computer non responsive. Disk manager shows up WD device; right click and then unistall again makes in non responsive.
Please help.

When the drive is visible, check how it appears in Device Manager. If problems are indicated you may be able to remove and replace the driver from there. If not, go for Safe Mode and try again.
