When I copy a file frommy computer to the hard disk that is attached to the wdlivetv speed not exceeding 3.35MB / s over Lan. The disk is a WD essensial 1.5. And the royter is an Thomson 585 v7
The Live units are not very efficient when it comes to data throughput over the network (applies to both wired and wireless connections).
It would be substantially faster to just walk the external drive over to your PC and copy the files on to it there.
Just remember to Eject it from the Live before unplugging if you choose that route. ;)
