Keeping non-media files on the usb drive?

Since a HDD connected to the Live is accessible on the network, I’d like to also use it as a backup for data, documents, etc. So I’m wondering if the Life would have a problem with that stuff being on the drive as well as the media files?

Perhaps if I have 2 folders at the top level - say, “media” and “other”, and only browse the “media” folder when using the Live. The “other” folder would hold things I back up from my PC.

Would that be ok as far as the Live is concerned?

Unless you HIDE the folder from the Hub, it will try to index everything you back up.

You can HIDE the folder by naming something like “.other” instead of “other”
