I have a WD ‘MyBook 3.0’ external hard drive. The model is the .

For over a year  now,  it will periodically just vanish and then obviously any files there cannot be accessed.  Then, magically, a few days later, it’s back after it’s trip to the Twilight Zone.

I need to get this solved, as it is quite aggravating. I bought it in January of 2011.

I have a MS Windows 7 64 bit PC. I’m an experienced home hobbyist/PC user. My computer is working fine. I have a fast CPU and plenty of memory.

Hello, if you are experiencing an intermittent connection with the My Book, you can try using another USB cable or connecting the My Book on another USB port or PC. If the problem continues you can run a test using DLG.
