Just got a 3tb My Book Live last weekend, iTunes server is not working as described

So I was reading through the manual and saw that with the iTunes server you can server up media through the Shared Music/Video folders. Now I have a fairly large collection of family movies and others that are all in mp4 format (a format accepted by iTunes) and none of them show up in iTunes when I click on the My Book Live entry, however when I placed an mp3 file in the Shared Music folder is shows up instantly. I have contact WD Concierge Service and they had me turn off the iTunes Media Server, turn it back on, restart my browser, turn off sharing for the Shared folder, turn back on reset again, rebuild iTunes library. Still no videos, only mp3’s. Am I just out of luck? The last WD tech support I spoke too said he saw videos in his iTunes from his My Book Live.

I have it connected to my router via ethernet. I have a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.9. Transfering data is not an issue when using Finder (2gbpm), the WD app however is much slower (>10mbpm). Anywho I just wanted to come here and see if anyone had any suggestions for me?

olyvaha,

For testing purposes, do you encounter the same results with other video file extensions?

I also have this problem.
I’m running latest iTunes & mavericks.
I can only see a music folder and the folder with playlists- music, movies & TV shows.
A music even though I’ve placed each album in its own folder, it is just listed as one big folder on iTunes

All my movies are in the shared and are either MP4s or M4vs that should run on iTunes.
