I have a 750 WD. It was working fine all of sudden the files name junk with unreadable characters. Also it not possible to copy any file from WD. Any help is much appreciated.
Unfortunately, it could be a sign of data corruption or drive damage. I would recommend performing a diagnostic test using Western Digital Data Lifeguard Diagnostics for Windows, as instructed in the following link:
I’d also run an AV scan on the drive to eliminate that also.
