i deleted all wdtv files from that shared folder, reset the smp, no change, funny thing is though is if i change images in other folders, it works straight away, but this one doesnt
Well, that is weird then.Ā You said if you create a new folder and add the thumb it shows correctly.Ā If thatās the case I would do that then and copy your files to that folder.Ā Because other than that Iām pretty much out of ideas, thereās not much else you can do.
Oh, one last thing.Ā Have you tried changing the .jgp to .metathumb?

yes i did the extension change but still nothing, im gonna keep at it, if i suss it out ill post back, thanks for help anyway 
sussed it out finally lol, i resized each image to 300x450, saved it but made sure it was under 100kb, removed the exif data, rebooted the smp and voila, all done and they look as clear as the metathumbs
