Itunes rebuild

What actually happens if you hit the ITunes Rebuild. My issue is all files are moved over but now showing more music than I should have. album covers etc. don’t show on my phone.
So, if hitting the rebuild button in the dashboard, will this “rebuild” sort out all the organization?

Did you copy over the entire ITunes folder or just the media file folders to the My Cloud? Often problems with the iTunes media server on the My Cloud are due to the user not properly copying over all of the iTunes folders (including those containing the album artwork). See the following links for general directions on how to copy the iTunes media library to an NAS like the My Cloud.

As to the question about what “rebuild” does, it supposedly rescans the Shares/folders for iTunes supported media. At this time that means basically just audio files.

Hey,

the WD phone support tech took over my machine and redirected itunes, on the itunes program to the NAS. We then copied the itunes folder from one of my internal drives, to the NAS. All itunes files, folders, etc are now on the NAS. All is working fine as far as access and listening. I use the BOSE soundtouch 130 which was the reason for the WD MYCLOUD purchase. I enjoy 11000+ songs but now when checking the NAS, it shows I have 13k+ songs and I can see clearly duplicated, triplicated items. The organization seems not right.

When seeing 2 or 3 of the same song in the list and playing from it, it will only however play one copy of the song (the itunes I presume and the others are just from a music folder copied over)

Itunes in all its glory is still a pain for folk like myself that are not heavy pc users.

thanks for your time and input here. it is greatly appreciated.
