Its possible to wipe a WD My Book Essential 3T HDD for internal use?

The enclosure of my My Book Essential 3T (WDBACW0030HBK-00 3411D) external drive won’t work, I think the PCB is damaged. The HDD it’s fine and it’s not damaged. I don’t care about the information or anything so I would like to know if its possible wipe complete the HDD to use as internal drive.

I use a generic enclosure to try formatting the HDD but I can’t do it. Here are some screenshots from what I’ getting in Disk Management on Windows 7.

Thank you.

Hello,

I have never tried this since it is not supported. However, an I/O error means the drive is defective and needs to be replaced.

Thanks Hamlet.

Could I be 100% sure that the disk is damaged?. I did not believed that the disc could be damaged, since used an another usb enclosure and see the disc on disk management.

So, in your opinion. Could I say that this hasn’t solution ?
