I am considering renaming my MyCloud device to differentiate between mine and that of one of my sons who uses the same name in a city 1500 miles from me (well, not by internet standards LOL). How will that affect my mapped drives on our PCs? How about mobile uses, etc., or will the new name “ripple down” through all the connections, etc.? Thank you!

On changing the name of My Cloud, you need to map the network drive again on your computer while it doesn’t affect the configuration of shares or user. There would be no issue while accessing My Cloud via web app and My Cloud mobile app, only it will show with a different name which you will change.
